Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich, in which she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress on Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. Grace has worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, decided to make the move to film. Grace has been in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes playing Shannon. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season that aired from 2013 until 2014. She plays Faith as a girl who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the eye to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). Gyllenhaal is a part of the family, and is the older sibling of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a teenager when she appeared in small role in films made that her father directed. She also worked with her brother in 2001's popular movie Donnie Darko. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) as well as the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She gained wider recognition when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films she starred in the year the year 2006. The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child was nominated to an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In the following years she appeared in comedy and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. In addition to her role as a Secret Service agent, she also appeared as a character in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles include her character as the primary protagonist in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal composed and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
